Quite a few people base their own clients on the Phex Code, and often their creations are quite admirable, but sadly we seldom even see the changes in the codebase they made to make Phex better fit their wishes. So now you can find here an (incomplete) list of those who build upon Phex and a small list of wishes to those who develop them.

When basing your own client on Phex
This is small list of wishes and tips from the Phex Team. We hope, you'll honor them, as they will help your client as well as Phex.
DO
- Give your client its own name. If you want to honor Phex, add "(Phex)" to that name.
- Keep your client compatible to the Phex code base, so you can easily integrate changes we make to the original Phex (for example you can get a SVN branch in which you can develop your own version of Phex, so you can simply merge changes in the original code into yours).
- Send us patches of those of your changes, which can also help Phex. That way others will benefit from your work and you will benefit from theirs (the SVN branch mentioned above is also a nice option here).
Don't
- Increase the number of Leaf to Ultrapeer connections, as it harms the whole Gnutella Network and could quickly get your client (or even Phex) banned.
